Lebanon nominates ambassador Mustapha Adib for International Court of Justice membership

In response to the directive of President Joseph Aoun, Lebanon has nominated Ambassador Mustapha Adib for membership in the International Court of Justice.

The nomination follows the resignation of Judge Nawaf Salam after his appointment as Prime Minister-designate to form the new Lebanese government.

The United Nations Security Council has set May 27, 2025, as the election date for a new member to replace Judge Salam at the court.
