French Ambassador hails Lebanon’s banking secrecy reform as key step toward recovery

French Ambassador to Lebanon Hervé Magro described the Lebanese Parliament’s approval of the banking secrecy law as “a promising step on the path of economic and financial reforms.”

In a post on X, Magro emphasized that restoring confidence in Lebanon’s banking sector also hinges on the next phase: the adoption of a draft law to restructure the banking sector.

“Restoring trust in the banking sector also depends on adopting the draft law on banking sector reform in the next stage,” he wrote.
