Bashar al-Assad: Meeting Erdoğan possible if it yields benefits for Syria

Syria's President Bashar al-Assad stated on Monday that if a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan leads to results and benefits the country, "I will proceed with it."

This statement coincides with Syria holding a parliamentary vote, as Syrians in government-held regions headed to the polls to elect a new parliament on Monday.
