Pentagon: US and Israeli Defense Ministers will meet in Washington on Wednesday

The U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) said on Sunday that Secretary Lloyd Austin will host his Israeli counterpart Yoav Gallant at the Pentagon on Wednesday "to discuss ongoing security developments in the Middle East."

The announcement follows Israel's pledge to respond to an Iranian attack on Tuesday, during which Tehran launched more than 180 ballistic missiles toward Israel. Israeli air defenses and the U.S. military largely thwarted the attack.
