Chinese embassy in Syria tells citizens to leave country

China’s embassy sent an urgent notice on Thursday advising its citizens to leave Syria “as soon as possible,” as armed opposition forces continue their offensive against government troops.

The opposition, led by the group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), captured the central Syrian city of Hama on Thursday, days after seizing the country’s commercial hub Aleppo.
