Hochstein tours Lebanese officials-[REPORT]
Lebanese Armed Forces Commander Major General Joseph Aoun received on Wednesday US Senior Advisor for Global Energy Security Amos Hochstein, in the presence of US Ambassador Dorothy Shea, whereby they discussed the maritime border demarcation.
 
Aoun confirmed to Hochstein that the military institution is supportive to any decision taken by political authorities in this regard.
 
He then met with General Security chief Major General Abbas Ibrahim with talks focusing on the maritime borders.
 

This as US official Hochstein met also with Prime Minister Najib Mikati in the presence of US ambassador to Lebanon Dorothy Shea.

 

During the meetings, talks focused on the new suggestions that Hochstein brought with him.

 

For his part, Mikati stated that he will discuss these suggestions with President Michel Aoun and Speaker Nabih Berri to determine Lebanon's position on them.

 

Later that day, President Michel Aoun was briefed by Hochstein about his proposals and the results of his contacts in Israel.

 

Aoun confirmed, during his meeting with the US envoy in the Baabda Presidential Palace, that they are ready to study the points that were raised, based on the desire to reach solutions to this issue.

 

The meeting was attended by US Ambassador to Lebanon Dorothy Shea, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdallah Bou Habib and Minister of Energy Walid Fayyad.
