Sahel General Hospital: Allegations of Hezbollah hideout intensify scrutiny on Israeli operations

Report by Petra Abou Haydar, English adaptation by Karine Keuchkerian

Two days ago, a specific location in the Ghobeiry area became the main focus for Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee and a matter of concern for all Lebanese.

Beneath the Sahel General Hospital in Ghobeiry, Israel's Adraee claimed that Hezbollah has a hideout containing half a billion dollars in cash and gold. This location is also where Hassan Nasrallah's hideout was situated.

According to Israeli claims, this hideout has two entrances: one from the north and the other from the south. The northern entrance is located at the northern side of the hospital, and entry occurs, according to Adraee, from the eastern section of the Sahel Centre Building—specifically from the second underground level.

After the complex's doors were closed in previous days due to a lack of tenants, as stated by its administrators, a media tour was organized on Wednesday. LBCI entered from the side that Adraee mentioned.

The crew also visited the point that Adraee claimed forms the southern entrance to the hideout, specifically at the Al-Ahmadi Building. This building is clearly residential but empty of its residents, who have fled since the onset of the conflict in Beirut's southern suburbs, and its doors are closed for that reason.

In the past two days, the focus has been on the Sahel General Hospital and the nearby buildings, while today it is the turn of Tyre. In previous days, other buildings and homes were also under threat from the destructive Israeli military operations, which seem unstoppable.
