Kremlin: France 'ready' to take on 'direct' role in war in Ukraine

A Kremlin spokesperson said on Friday that recent statements by French President Emmanuel Macron "fuel" tensions in Europe and indicate that he is preparing France to take on a direct role in Ukraine.

Russian news agencies quoted spokesperson Dmitry Peskov as saying, "Macron shows absolute support for the Kyiv regime and announces France's readiness for direct participation in the military conflict." Peskov was speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
