French far-right chief Bardella slams 'alliance of dishonor' after election upset

French far-right party leader Jordan Bardella Sunday slammed "an alliance of dishonor" between President Emmanuel Macron's centrist forces and the left in legislative elections after his National Rally (RN) appeared set to win fewer seats than expected.

While hailing the "most important breakthrough of all its (the RN's) history", he told supporters that "these electoral pacts have thrown France into the arms of the extreme left."
