Israel to US: Shooting at WFP vehicle in Gaza was due to a "communication error"

The US Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations said on Thursday that Israel informed the United States that an initial review concluded that the shooting at a marked World Food Program vehicle in Gaza occurred due to a "communication error" between Israeli military units.

Robert Wood, the US During a UN Security Council meeting on Gaza, Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations said, "We have urged them to promptly correct the issues within their system. 

Israel must not only take responsibility for its mistakes but also take concrete steps to ensure that the Israeli military does not fire on UN personnel again."
