French inflation falls, but GDP growth lower than estimated

According to official data, inflation in France slowed to a three-year low in August, but the economy grew less than previously estimated in the second quarter.

Consumer inflation reached 1.9 percent, falling below two percent for the first time since August 2021. Still, the INSEE statistics agency said the economy expanded by 0.2 percent instead of 0.3 percent as previously thought.
