G7 foreign ministers urge 'immediate ceasefire' in Lebanon

G7 foreign ministers called on Tuesday for an "immediate ceasefire" in Lebanon, as Israel's security cabinet was set to discuss a proposed truce in its war with Hezbollah.

"We support the ongoing negotiation for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah," the ministers said in a statement, adding: "Now is the time to conclude a diplomatic settlement."
