US State Department: Visa restrictions imposed on 14 Syrian officials

The US State Department announced on Friday that the United States has imposed visa restrictions on 14 Syrian officials due to their involvement in cases of enforced disappearances.

In a statement, the department noted that these restrictions are in addition to the 21 Syrian officials previously announced by Secretary of State Antony Blinken in March.

The State Department also stated that over 96,000 men, women, and children have been "disappeared" by the Syrian government as part of its approach to handling dissent.
