China deploys fighter jets, warships in Taiwan military drills

China on Monday deployed fighter jets and warships as part of its military drills around Taiwan, Beijing's state media said.

"Fighter jets, bombers and other advanced warplanes... flew over the (Taiwan) strait," state broadcaster CCTV said, adding "several destroyers and frigates from the Eastern Theater Command Navy carried out exercises simultaneously."
