Spain floods death toll climbs to 72, rescuers say

The death toll from flash floods that have ravaged parts of eastern Spain has climbed to at least 72 people, emergency services and officials said on Wednesday.

The body coordinating rescue services in the eastern Valencia region announced in a statement a new provisional toll of 70 dead. The leader of neighboring Castilla-La Mancha region had already reported two deaths.
