European stocks jump as Trump claims victory

Europe's main stock markets rallied at the start of trading on Wednesday as Donald Trump claimed victory in the US presidential election.

London rose 0.9 percent, Paris climbed 1.0 percent and Frankfurt advanced 0.8 percent, while the dollar surged against the British pound and euro.
