Macron slams Amsterdam clashes as reminder of 'history's darkest hours'

French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday "strongly" condemned clashes in Amsterdam following a football match between hosts Ajax and Israeli side Maccabi Tel-Aviv.

"The violence against Israeli citizens in Amsterdam recalls history's darkest hours. I strongly condemn it and express my sympathy for the injured. France will relentlessly continue to fight against heinous anti-Semitism," Macron said on X.
