South Korean democracy at 'most critical moment', opposition leader tells AFP

South Korean democracy is at its "most critical moment" with a looming impeachment vote and the risk the president will try to declare martial law again, opposition leader Lee Jae-myung told AFP on Friday.

"With the impeachment vote set for tomorrow, the hours leading up to it are extremely precarious," Lee said, adding that "tonight will be the most critical moment" and his lawmakers plan to stay in the parliament building until the vote is done.
