US blocking steel deal raises investment concerns: Japan PM

President Joe Biden's blocking of Nippon Steel's takeover of U.S. Steel has raised concerns among Japanese firms about future investments in the United States, Japan's prime minister said Monday.

"It is unfortunately true that there are concerns being raised from Japan's industrial world over Japan-U.S. investment in the future," Shigeru Ishiba said after Biden blocked the $14.9-billion deal.
