Yaacoub to LBCI: Military institution guarantees security and stability in Lebanon

Former MP Hassan Yaacoub called on the Lebanese Armed Forces leadership to publish the videos that were exposed at the meeting of the defense committee concerning the incidents that took place in Abra, stressing that “the public has the right to know how the incidents actually unfolded.”              

In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, Yaacoub said that the Lebanese Army preserved what was left of its authority when it defended itself in Abra, noting that “the Takifirist ideology is attacking the army while the political party seeking to harm the military institution is well known.”                

In this context, Yaacoub stressed that the military institution can guarantee security and stability in Lebanon, pointing out that nothing justifies any attack against it.         

On another note, Yaacoub said that the extension of the term of LAF Chief General Jean Kahwagi is taking its normal course.
