Lebanese army to receive U.S. military assistance on Aug. 29
The Army Command- Orientation Directorate said on Thursday that the army will receive ammunition and military assets, as part of the U.S. assistance to the Lebanese Armed Forces.

The LAF is set to receive the aid tomorrow (August 29) via Beirut International Airport and in the presence of a delegation dispatched by the U.S. embassy and a number of senior military officers.

On the 14th of August, Prime Minister Tammam Salam held a meeting with US ambassador to Lebanon David Hale at the Grand Serail in the presence of National Defense Minister Samir Moqbel.

Talks featured high on the incidents that took place in the northeastern border town of Arsal as well as the US' assistance to Lebanon.

In this regard, ambassador Hale told Salam and Moqbel that the Lebanese Armed Forces will be provided with urgent military assistance during the upcoming weeks.
