Choucair after Financial meeting in Baabda: Lebanon decided not to pay debt

President Michel Aoun presided the financial meeting held on Saturday in Baabda Palace.

The meeting was attended by Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Hassan Diab, Deputy Prime Minister, Ministers of Finance and Economy, Governor of the Central Bank and President of the Association of Banks.

Following the financial meeting, Precidency’s Director General Antoine Choucair said: "Based on the available options, conferees at the financial and economic meeting decided to support the government in whatever option it adopts, except for the payment of the debt maturities.”
