Sleiman: Lebanon's stability should not be presented as ransom for the Arab Spring
The Lebanese President Michel Sleiman asked those concerned not to present Lebanon's stability as a ransom for the Arab Spring pointing out that the Lebanese people have all agreed on not transforming their homeland to an area of conflict.

In his speech during the ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the academic and therapeutic building at the American University of Beirut, Sleiman mentioned that Lebanon has suffered the grace of democracy in the East, because it made the country subject to greed and exposed to crisis that threatened its existence.

Sleiman added: "We seek to strengthen solidarity and mutual support to consolidate our image as an oasis and message of living together based on the culture of justice, which Lebanon has long believed in." The president concluded that Pope Benedict XVI visit to Lebanon returned glow to this message.
