Mikati after meeting Aoun: We will follow up next week-[REPORT]

Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati met on Thursday with President Michel Aoun at the Baabda Presidential Palace over the Cabinet formation process.

Mikati then left without giving any statement.

“We will follow up next week,” Mikati told reporters before leaving.

Lebanon has been without a government since Prime Minister Hassan Diab submitted his resignation following the Beirut port explosion, with Lebanese leaders failing to agree on a new government as the country has been suffering from a major financial crisis.

Mikati, has been trying to form the government since he was designated last month in place of Saad Hariri, who abandoned the efforts after nine months of trying.
