Gemayel: Lebanese are fed up with Hezbollah’s constant threats
Lebanese Kataeb Party Chief Samy Gemayel mentioned on Friday that “Tayouneh clashes are not the first of their kind in which violence is used,” explaining that “it is known that Hezbollah is a militia fighting in Syria and other places in the region, and is under Iran’s orders and implements its agenda in Lebanon, and this situation has been going on for years."

"The Lebanese are fed up, and what happened yesterday was a reaction to the constant threats and Hezbollah's use of violence," he added.

Gemayel also called on via CNN Channel the Lebanese Army to be present everywhere and to get rid of all weapons outside the framework of legitimacy,” adding that “when there is an armed militia that daily threatens and destroys the rule of law, this means that it destroys people’s right to live in a state that secures our rights without resorting to violence."

He also accused Hezbollah of “taking the Lebanese people as hostages,” explaining that “the solution to avoid yesterday’s clashes is for the state to extend its authority over all Lebanon, withdraw all weapons and restore stability.”

"There is an armed militia that considers itself stronger than the law as it does not have to appear before courts, and may drag Lebanon into a war against Israel or in Syria or confront Arab countries and the United States," Gemayel pointed out.

Gemayel reiterated that Lebanon must be a neutral country in order for Lebanese to live in peace and stability.

"Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah declared openly that his party is part of the Iranian armed axis in the region, and the same is true in Iraq and Syria, where Iran's allies are implementing its plans. Unfortunately, Hezbollah uses Lebanese civilians to fight wars that have nothing to do with Lebanon's interest,” he stressed.
