US evacuates approximately 145 additional individuals from Lebanon

The United States evacuated approximately 145 additional individuals from Lebanon on two flights headed to Turkey, according to the U.S. Department of State.

A spokesperson for the Department stated in a statement that "two flights organized by the State Department facilitated the safe departure of around 145 passengers from Beirut to Istanbul, Turkey, on Saturday," without specifying their nationalities.

He added that each flight could accommodate up to 300 passengers.

The spokesperson also noted that they have "assisted approximately 600 U.S. citizens, permanent residents in Lebanon, along with their immediate family members, in leaving Lebanon through flights organized by the United States."
