Lebanese Army deploys in Aitaroun and other southern villages amid Israeli attack

The Lebanese Army announced that its units have been deployed in the southern town of Aitaroun in the Bint Jbeil district and other border areas south of the Litani River.

The deployment, coordinated with the mechanism committee overseeing the ceasefire agreement, comes amid escalating Israeli attacks, including the burning of homes in several towns, such as Aitaroun, Rab El Thalathine, and Odaisseh in the Marjaayoun district.

The army also reported that Israeli airstrikes targeted vehicles involved in the recovery of martyrs' bodies in the town of Taybeh, Marjaayoun.

Amid these ongoing attacks, the Lebanese Army urged residents to adhere to official directives, follow the guidance of deployed military units, and coordinate with local authorities to ensure their safety.

The statement reaffirmed the army's commitment to supporting residents in border towns while continuing efforts to implement U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701 and enforce necessary security measures in multiple locations south of the Litani.
