Iraqi officials say two border guards killed by PKK fire

Two Iraqi border guards were killed Friday in a shooting blamed on the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) near the border with Turkey in Iraq's autonomous Kurdish region, an official said.

"Two border guards were killed and a third wounded during shooting and clashes with the PKK" when they were patrolling a village, the official told AFP, requesting anonymity because he is not authorized to speak to the media.
