EU says Venezuela must stop 'repression' of opposition

EU foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell said Wednesday that Venezuela must halt its crackdown on the opposition amid protests against President Nicolas Maduro's disputed election victory.

"The Venezuelan authorities must end arrests, repression, and violent rhetoric against members of the opposition," Borrell wrote on X, adding that threats against opposition leaders were "unacceptable."
