EU chief accepts resignation of France's Breton: commission

EU chief Ursula von der Leyen has accepted the resignation of France's European commissioner Thierry Breton, who quit immediately on Monday, a European Commission spokeswoman said.

"The president takes note and accepts Thierry Breton's resignation and thanks him for his work as commissioner throughout the mandate," the spokeswoman told reporters.
