Germany announces €96 million in additional aid for Lebanon

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock announced Thursday that Germany will provide an additional €96 million ($103.57 million) in humanitarian and development aid to Lebanon.

The announcement was made ahead of a meeting of approximately 70 delegations in Paris, focused on assisting Lebanon amid ongoing challenges.

“We are making it clear that we are not only looking at the suffering in Lebanon these days, but we are taking action,” Baerbock said.

“We are supporting people on the ground who mostly want just one thing: to live in safety and peace in the future, just like many people in Israel.”

France hopes the conference will raise around €500 million ($540 million) in humanitarian aid, according to a document from the French Foreign Ministry.
