Israel claims airstrikes hit Hezbollah sites in Beirut's southern suburbs: Spokesperson

The Israeli army noted on Tuesday that warplanes, under precise guidance from the Intelligence Directorate, struck command centers and sites for the production of weapons and other military infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

"Hezbollah has been planting its facilities in the heart of civilian residential areas as a combat strategy, which is another example of Hezbollah using Lebanon's citizens as human shields," Israel's army spokesperson Avichay Adraee claimed on X.

"Prior to the airstrikes, steps were taken to minimize the risk of civilian casualties, including gathering precise intelligence and reconnaissance, as well as issuing advance warnings to evacuate residents," he indicated.
