The United Arab Emirates and Jordan signed a $2.3 billion dollar investment agreement to build railways in Jordan linking Aqaba port to mining areas in Shaidiya and Gawr as-Safi, the Jordanian prime minister's office said on Wednesday.

This project comes within the framework of the $5.5 billion investment projects package signed by the two countries last year, the prime minister's office added.
