Several migrants die off northern French coast trying to cross Channel: AFP correspondents

Several migrants died off the northern French coast on Tuesday trying to cross the Channel to England, emergency services said, with AFP correspondents seeing at least six body bags.

French maritime authorities said a major rescue operation was underway to save about 50 migrants and supply urgent medical assistance.
