France's Macron says Carter defended 'most vulnerable,' promoted peace

On Sunday, French President Emmanuel Macron paid tribute to former U.S. president Jimmy Carter, who died aged 100, for defending the "most vulnerable" and fighting for peace.

"Throughout his life, Jimmy Carter has steadfastly advocated for the rights of the most vulnerable and has tirelessly fought for peace. France sends its heartfelt thoughts to his family and the American people," Macron said on X.
