France’s Macron welcomes Joseph Aoun’s election, emphasizing reforms and sovereignty

France's President Emmanuel Macron congratulated Lebanon’s new president, Joseph Aoun, on this crucial election, which "paves the way for reforms, the restoration of sovereignty, and the prosperity" of the country.

On X, he said: "Lebanese people, France stands by your side."
