Pope Francis urges end to hostilities in DR Congo

Pope Francis on Wednesday called for an end to violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo, praying "for the prompt re-establishment of peace and security" after Kigali-backed rebels entered Goma.

"I'm also concerned about what is happening in the capital, Kinshasa, hoping that all forms of violence against people and their property will cease as soon as possible," added the pope, following his public audience.
