Bou Habib says Lebanon calls for a peaceful solution to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine
President Michel Aoun held on Wednesday a meeting at the Baabda Presidential Palace, attended by Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdallah Bou Habib dedicated to studying Lebanon's position on the military developments taking place between Russia and Ukraine.

"Lebanon calls on the United Nations General Assembly to work on strengthening dialogue options in order to seek a peaceful solution to the crisis between Russia and Ukraine," Bou Habib said in this context, "as Lebanon remains committed to its position established last Thursday."

This as President Aoun had received earlier in the day a phone call from US Assistant Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland, during which bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them in all fields, especially with regard to the bilateral cooperation were discussed.

The stage of negotiations with the International Monetary Fund, the outcomes of the US Treasury delegation's visit to Beirut, the progress of the southern maritime border demarcation file, the process of importing oil and electricity from Egypt and Jordan through Syria, and the ongoing preparations for the Lebanese parliamentary elections, as well as military developments between Russia and Ukraine, were all discussed.
