Iraq says will protect itself from 'any terrorist attack'

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein on Friday said his country must guard against attack, as Islamist-led rebels pressed a shock offensive in neighboring Syria.

"We stress the need to protect Iraqi territory and borders and distance Iraq from any terrorist attacks," Hussein said in a meeting with his Syrian and Iranian counterparts, adding that "all Iraqi security forces are on high alert".
